Come join the Volunteer Team for the 2013 Nashville Kids Triathlon as we host one of the largest kids triathlon in the US. This year’s event is expected to draw more than 1,000 participants and 3,000 spectators. In total, we need about 225 volunteers to run a safe, efficient event. Following are details regarding the various aspects of the opportunity to volunteer.
The Nashville Kids Triathlon needs hard working volunteers who do not mind a lot of physical labor to help with all aspects of course set-up. Specific responsibilities include unloading equipment, driving posts, setting-up transition, positioning crowd control barricades and placing course signage and much more. This is a great opportunity to help the event while getting in a pretty good workout!
In this role, we need detail-oriented volunteers who are willing to help organize the Race Expo and all of the Pre Race Pep Rally activities. Responsibilities include arranging tables, sign placement, concession & registration set-up and more.
Volunteers are needed in various positions including course and tent setup, expo coordination, packet pick-up, kids activity areas, general supervision, clean-up and more.
This team of volunteers likes getting up early. You start by helping with body marking, timing chip distribution, transition set-up and course set-up. Then (around 7:30am) you shift to an area of race responsibility. This could include the run course, bike course, pool area, transition area, staging area, event expo, etc.
For those of you who like to sleep-in (at least a little), you join us at 7:00am and are assigned to one of our race day teams. This could include the run course, bike course, pool area, transition area, staging area, event expo, etc.
The late volunteer shift on Sunday is responsible for returning the beautiful Centennial Park to the exact shape we found it. Expect a lot of manual labor and heavy lifting as you will be helping clean-up and break down the event. Specific responsibilities include cutting zip ties, collecting trash, rolling soft fencing, moving crowd control barricades, pulling posts and loading the equipment back onto our truck.
In any of these positions, you will be playing a very important role in helping us build a generation of healthy, active and responsible kids. In exchange, you will receive a huge sense of accomplishment, a renewed faith in the youth of America, a t-shirt and a cool lunch bag.
If interested in volunteering for the event please submit the information below and someone will be in contact with you ASAP. Any specific area requests should be placed in the comments section.
